Delicious Butter Chicken at The Lantern, this Sunday


Savouring the flavour of the Shanti Home Special Butter Chicken, we wanted to share this with all our friends.

Butter-Chicken

So here’s the recipe :

Ingredients:

(800 gms) of chicken
1 tspn of kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tblspn of lemon juice
Salt to taste
200 gms of yogurt
1 tspn of kashmiri red chilli powder
Salt to taste
2 tblspns of ginger paste
2 tblspns of garlic paste
2 tblspns of lemon juice
2 tspn of garam masala powder
2 tblspns of mustard oil

Directions

  1. Make deep incisions on the chicken
  2. Mix together salt, chili powder and lemon juice and rub over the chicken evenly. Keep aside for 15 min.
  3. Mix together all the ingredients for the marinade and add it to the chicken. Keep aside for 4 hrs.
  4. To prepare the chicken, skewer from head to tail and roast on the charcoal grill or place in a shallow baking pan( covered with aluminum foil) in a preheated oven at 350 degree F, basting with butter from time to time, for about 15 min to an hour or until, when poked with a fork, the juices can run clear. If roasting in an oven, remove the foil the last 10min of baking.
  5. To prepare the gravy, place tomato, water, ginger and garlic pastes, green chili, red chili powder, cloves, cardamom and salt in a large sauce pan and cooked till reduced to sauce consistency.
  6. Squeeze through a strainer and return the gravy to the sauce pan and bring to a boil.
  7. Heat butter in a separate sauce pan and add garlic, Sauté for a minute.
  8. Add the gravy and stir.
  9. Portion the chicken and add to the gravy.
  10. Add cream and butter and stir.
  11. Garnish with fenugreek leaves, ginger and additional cream.
  12. Serve hot.
